Player Alias: Meezer
Character Name: Russell Clay
Allegiance: Human (allied with Autobots)
Appearance Description: Russell is approximately the size of the average ten-to-twelve-year-old human boy. He has short, messy brown hair, blue eyes, and a light build. He often dresses in blue jeans, a white t-shirt, a blue and cyan jacket, and orange hi-top sneakers.
Personality + Character Traits: Oftentimes, Russell feels like he is the more mature of he and his father; his father sees a scrapyard full of "hidden treasures", but Russell sees a scrapyard full of, well, crap for the most part. It doesn't mean that he doesn't love his father, of course. He just doesn't see the scrap with the same child-like wonder his father does. In addition, he feels more like he's the parent sometimes, because he has to help mediate disputes between his father Denny and the Mini-Con Fixit. Nor does he get the child-like zeal his father has for the rock band Rear Axel. Not that he gets Bumblebee's zeal for them either, but he won't let that get in the way of a mission of course.
What he does see with child-like wonder, however, is things like detective thrillers, magic shows, and giant robots. He has gone so far to make himself the persona of Detective McPlank and the magician The Great Russtini. In addition, he seemingly jumped at the call of adventure to protect the Autobots when they came to his father's scrapyard. Who can blame him though? Giant robots are pretty cool!
While he tries to be the mature one, sometimes he has a habit of getting himself or others into danger for things he has a childish want for, like trophies of victories over the Decepticons. Whether it's getting himself captured by trying to get into the fray to grab something, or nearly getting one of his Autobot allies melted down, he's determined, though that doesn't necessarily mean he'll risk everything once he realizes what danger he's actually in.
He can sometimes have a hard time relating to the other kids in his area. Perhaps it is because he doesn't share the same interests, or perhaps because he considers himself a little more mature. Of the few he does relate to, it is usually due to a mutual interest in something such as football or detective books or sleight-of-hand magic. As a result, he can sometimes seem a bit socially-awkward.
As he is only human, he's prone to the same foibles that other humans have, both emotional and physical. He has to be careful underfoot of Cybertronians, and has to watch out lest he be captured by a Cybertronian. In addition, expect his emotions to be swayed and his curiosity to peek up at odd times.
Weaponry: Russell has no innate weaponry. Instead, he relies on improvised weaponry that he can find where he is, be that a piece of scrap in the scrapyard, broken tree limbs in a forest, a fire extinguisher, or even using one of his many pairs of underwear as a slingshot if he has to.
History: Some time before his mother went off to Copenhagen, Denmark for business, he was living with his mother after his parents divorced, spending time with his dad on the weekends and every other holiday. However, once his mother went off to Copenhagen, he would find himself spending a lot more time around his father's scrapyard. At first, it was rather rocky, as he and his father had such differing interests!
And then, they tookan arrow several Autobots to the knee Scrapyard. That was when life got a little more interesting for Russell, who jumped at the call to help these strange giant alien robots fit in on Earth, and capture the Decepticons who had escaped from the prison ship Alchemor. He and his father would jump right in to helping them get the necessary supplies, helping them set up a base, and helping them learn about Earth culture. Well, most of them, as he hadn't counted on Bumblebee being so experienced with Earth culture thanks to his time on Earth during the Great War.
He and his father have worked to help the Autobots in many sticky situations and difficult captures, whenever possible. This despite any arguments with Fixit that his father might have, and the many scrapes that he might get into while trying to help the Autobots. Even getting captured by Decepticons won't stop them!
Roleplay/Writing Sample:
"Dad. Fixit, break it up!" Russell blurted, rubbing at his temples slightly. He loved his dad, really. But damn if Denny didn't act like a spoiled child half the time! And he loved helping the Autobots, of course. But sometimes, Fixit could just be so damned stubborn!
Oops, language. He knew how much his parents would probably admonish him if they knew he was thinking in obscenities. But he was just so infuriated at the bickering. He could hear the sudden clang of Fixit finally getting fed up and throwing a wrench down. He groaned slightly and tried to speak calmly.
"...Fixit, CALM DOWN." He groaned. "You know Dad's really sensitive about his organization system. And I know it bugs you at times that his system is different from yours...but you two have to work together if we're going to organize the scrapyard enough that the other Autobots won't get hurt stepping on things."
He braced for the tongue-lashing that he thought he was about to get, but was pleasantly surprised that Fixit seemed happy that someone understood his problem as well. When Fixit seemed to settle and swipe up the very wrench he threw, he braced again in case the wrench was thrown at his dad. Again, it seemed he would be pleasantly surprised, as Fixit took it elsewhere, probably to organize within his system of organization.
He would follow Fixit, who seemed to be trying to get the wrench back in a too-small toolbox. "Here. Let me help you. It should probably be in the blue toolbox since it's big enough to actually fit inside it." He gave a soft smile. "Sorry for having to yell like that but it's really important to me that BOTH of you are happy..."
