Characters: @leah, First Aid Location: Cyclonus' Cave Content Warnings: N/A Plot Summary: First Aid has been at Cyclonus' cave for a few days recovering from his crash. Leah sneaks in and First Aid sees her.
First Aid had been at Cyclonus' cave for a little bit now. Recovering and nursing his wounds. Thankfully, they were all superficial ones that could be fixed easily. Nothing internal or vital had been damaged on impact.
However, First Aid had been at a loss of what to do. He knew eventually he wanted to help by offering his skills as a medic. But he didn't even know who was on this planet. If they would want him. He knew that he was young and did not have the skill level as many other medics.
First Aid was simply pouring over this planet's information and history when something caught his eye. He saw a flash of movement, much too small to be Cyclonus or another Cybertronian.
Perhaps an animal trying to find a cool place to rest?
Clang.
Something just fell. First Aid frowned, setting aside a datapad.
"Hello?" First Aid called out, his voice soft. However, if the visitor was organic, they would likely not be able to understand him as he was speaking in a Cybertronian dialect.
Much like when she met Starscream, she was looking for scrap. She was looking for something to SELL; maybe something that would even bring in a few extra dollars, if she knew the right person. And Leah tended to know the right people. Because, as good of a find as Starscream was, he was not exactly primo selling material. He was an ALIEN, and she wasn't that ruthless.
Well, not yet.
So while he went off and did his thing, Leah took to the desert. If there was one giant robot, then there was bound to be others. There was bound to be scrap, and evidence of their survival. She wasn't going to turn someone in. She wasn't going to call the government and sell them. But... But, hey, if she happened to get her hands on some cool tech, then that was really all that mattered.
It was during one of these trips that she found the cave. Normally, it was nothing special. Caves were a thing that happened when you explored the deserts and the mountains around them. They HAPPENED. But ever since finding Starscream in one of those, Leah was careful to at least poke her head into the ones big enough to hide a Cybertronian. So upon seeing the cave, Leah pulled over, grabbed her backpack, and headed in.
And it was a FUCKING GOLD MINE. Tech everywhere, scrap as far as she could see. It was definitely the hideaway of a Cybertronian, and it was most definitely her 777 jackpot. Tossing her water bottle aside, Leah began to grab whatever smaller pieces of scrap she could find and shove into her backpack.
That is, until her water bottle collided with another piece of metal, and applied just enough force for it to fall over. There was a clatter, and then a clang. And then, quieter, a gentle "FUCK" from the human herself.
First Aid heard the exclamation and quickly started going through his databanks to match up the language to the small being.
There were so many languages... First Aid wearily watched Leah as he tried to find a language that she would understand. With the recent crash, First Aid's language databanks were running slow and he was not able to match up the language as quickly as he could have before. He supposed he would have to do this the harder way...
"¿Hola? ¿Puedes entenderme? 你會說什麼語言?Meine Datenbanken hinken. Please stop me if you hear a language you understand."
This particular little bitch was in the mood to FIGHT.
Of course, the mood was practically ruined when the robot revealed himself, and then proceeded to speak through a number of different languages. It didn't really surprise her; Starscream had said that they weren't programmed with English as a first language. And why would they be? They were ALIENS from an ALIEN PLANET. Not American.
But as soon as she heard English, she raised her hands. A noise of alarm, but also agreement, came from between her lips. Although she knew a bit of Spanish-- growing up in Nevada and working the streets allowed for that added skill-- English was definitely what she was more comfortable with.
"You got it, my man. You got it, right there. ENGLISH. Okay? You-- You got that? We cool, little dude?"
God, she hoped so. Although she was ready to fight-- and, hey, it had been a long while since she'd had a really good fight-- she didn't want to have to explain to anyone where the laser burns came from. And she definitely didn't care to risk being squished, not this far away from civilization. So instead, she lifted her chin, puffed out her chest. Her dark eyes hardened.
First Aid paused once the human signaled that he had found the right language. He paused, making a note of that and downloading the rest of the human language so he would be better equipped to speak with her. "We're... cool."
One unfortunate thing about the language packs is that sometimes they did not include slang. But First Aid could gather what that meant. Something that
"I crash landed not too long ago. I was found and rescued from the crash site. I'm being allowed to stay here while I heal."
Something that First Aid was grateful for. He didn't know where he would have gone if Cyclonus hadn't offered him his home.
Oh, dear sweet baby Jesus, she had gotten herself involved with a robot who had no idea about human culture. This was either going to be the best moment of her life, or one of the worst. Wait, no. Definitely NOT the worst; that honor was taken already. But the best could still be claimed, she supposed. These giant robots were already making her life a little better.
“Okay, look, my man. You’re new here. I respect that. But you gotta remember, this ain’t exactly your planet, so scarin’ the natives like that probably isn’t a good idea. I mean, hell, what if I’d had some kinda weapon or somethin’? What if I’d fuckin’ shot you or some shit? That wouldn’t be good. That wouldn’t be good for EITHER of us, y’dig?”
With a huff, Leah crossed her arms over her chest. She wasn’t exactly sure where to go from here, and she wasn’t exactly sure what to do. The only robots she had ever met were Starscream, and a few of the other Autobots in passing. And by “in passing,” she meant “the middle of a fight, when she was trying to see and no one knew she existed.” But, really, it was the same thing. She knew they existed. She had seen them.
It was amusing to First Aid that this little human was calling him little. But he was often called little by other Cybertronians, so he didn't make note of it.
"I... had not expected to be found," First Aid admitted. "I wasn't planning on going out into the open until I found a suitable earth alt mode that would help me blend in."
But First Aid hadn't planned on transforming until he finished healing. Being found definitely caught him off-guard. But at least this human seemed to be friendly.
Also, First Aid wasn't sure if organic weaponry could harm him. It was possible, though. He just wasn't aware of the types of weapons they had.
Honestly, everyone to Leah was “little dude.” To her, it wasn’t about someone’s height, or their physical strength. No, whether they were big or little rested in their personality, and this little dude certainly didn’t seem like he had a bigger personality. Besides, she had already labeled him, and now he was going to have to deal with that.
“Name’s Leah, li’l dude.” Shoving her hands in her pockets, Leah tilted her head, looking him over. He was certainly smaller than any giant robot she had ever seen before. He was smaller than Starscream, at least. “’S nice to meet you, and all that fun junk. Healin’ up, then? Sounds rough.”
No, crashing to earth sounded rough, but she couldn’t say that aloud. She had to be cool, casual. As much as she wanted to ask him if he was okay, what happened, why did he crash, she couldn’t. She had a reputation to keep up, even if it was with two different bots who had never met each other. And who, knowing her luck, never would.
“So ya mean to come to earth, dude? Or did you just end up here? ‘Cause, ha, I’ve met people who tend to go either or, really. It all depends on the giant robot.”
First Aid knelt down so she wouldn't have to crane her neck back to look at him. "Little dude" or not, he was still much bigger than her and he imagined that it wasn't a comfortable angle to constantly be looking up.
"I am. It's been a few days since the crash so my systems have already started to take into account the healing process."
This was a big difference between now and just a few moments ago. First Aid wondered why she had come into the cave in the first place.
"Ah. Well, it was definitely an accident. A meteor shower knocked my shuttle's controls offline and I was just drifting for awhile," he shrugged. "Earth's orbit pulled me into your atmosphere and I was unable to stop the crash."
