Decepticon: You have orders~ But you can argue/ask to do something else to your loved leader. (V3389, you can for exemple ask to go with Skyquake after make sure that the other will extract the target quickly.)
Autobots: Go to the mine and get ready to attack! You may be looking for a plan of attack once there?
Sometimes life is not as it should be. Some just dreamed of a more calm, to be appreciated, to become a doctor, to others things that may seem futile and others wanted to be ... Prime, like Megatron himself. His dream was to make Cybertron bigger, full of power… but by a dangerous way. Optimus, him, was on the right path, and despite his low physical strength, his spirit was strong and wise. That's why he became Prime. Megatron, angry, then did things that no one would be proud, and which still endure today.
Everyone know that story. Everyone is in this war. But… is everyone know what really make Megatron angry?
Not being up to par.

Today was pretty normal day on Earth. More or less. Skyquake was in charge of inspecting a mine, who was in the order of a Vehicon named V3389. However the big surprise was the arrival of the leader. Why inspect a mine if there is no problem? And why Meg's himself come to it? Because there was one. A big one.
- Is someone here can explain to me why it is urgent? I hope for you all that I did not move for nothing.
He said, entering the mine. This place was a cave… And the message was sent by the miners, and following the request of Sky, a second. There was something to see, but it was not explained. Something important. The mining soldiers stopped, frightened at the time, before returning their work. Megatron seemed somewhat really not relaxed. He does not like to be disturbed as well. Three Insecticons was here too to be on guard and… make some troubles. The Vehicon hate them. One of the soldier approached and invited him to follow him. After a bit of walking, leader assumed an air that he had not had since he had discovered that Shockwave's pet can speak… There was a huge energon crystal front of him. Approximately 10 meters high. He had never seen such a big!
It was both wonderful and annoying. Now visible, radiation were certainly strong and the Autobots would surely come and try to retrieve it. With such a crystal, they could live a year without attacking a single mine, allow them to focus on their enemy ... So, the Decepticon. It was a problem-strategic. He had to be extracted quickly. Very quickly.
Megatron looked down. Skyquake was there in the company of the Vehicon. He walked up to them, contemplating this exceptional find, again.
- Unbelievable. So it was discovered this morning?
After reflexion, the leader was not at all angry for being called. But they should act fast. He seems to think a few seconds and look at V3389. He seemed competent. Certainly not as much as Skyquake, but he was going to need it for something else.
- Make sure that this crystal will be evacuate quickly. It is the priority of the miners from now on. The Autobot will probably come soon for it. No one can ignore such a signal. Soundwave has detected it before your call. The Autobots probably too.
He then he looked Dreadwing's brother. His mission will please him so much.
- Go to the entrance. You know what you have to do.
Guard the entrance to the potentials intruders. Megatron will join if he is attacked, along with other soldiers and V3389.

During this time, in the Autobot base, the signal was indeed detected, and very strong. Optimus was out, so Ultra Magnus was in charge. The 'bots was unaware that a mine was there. So they was going to see what was that signal.
The signal was discovered and analyzed, and it was with that full analysis in hand that Ultra Magnus made his command decision. There weren't a lot of Autobots in the base at the best of times, there was too much ground to cover and too many threats to keep an eye out for. So Magnus grabbed the first two Autobots that he could lay phalanges to. Zephyr and Stormgear, two that he wasn't overly familiar with but that was the best he could do in the operational window and they were Autobots so he had no reason to believe they weren't competent. "You two, with me. We've found a very strong energon signal, likely from a large crystal, and we are going to investigate."
They ground bridged to the general vicinity and Ultra Magnus was the first one through, heavy blaster leveled forward as he came through in a tactical crouch. "Spread left and right, stay wary. If we found it, I have little doubt the Decepticons have too. Zephyr, can you make a scouting run from the air? If you run into any trouble come back to us immediately and we will cover you." For his part, Ultra Magnus moved forward scanning the nearby environs with his weapon's barrel. He was certain there would be stiff resistance but as long as none of the heavy hitters were on hand he was sure the three of them could either acquire the resource or at the very least deny it to the enemy.
Skyquake preened at his master’s obvious pleasure with their finding. He hadn’t been directly responsible for it, but he had played a big role indirectly. After all, it was him who had stood guard over this planet’s energon deposits for millennia on end. He had ensured that his lord would have plentiful resources if he ever reached this quadrant of the galaxy in his glorious campaign.
“Yes, my Liege,” He bowed. “The vehicons unearthed it not so long ago.”
It was a bit disappointing to see his master turn to an eradicon nearby to organise the extraction of the energon crystal. Hadn’t Skyquake earned the right to lead such an important mission? Surely Lord Megatron knew that he could get the crystal to the Nemesis without a hitch. He narrowed his optics at the eradicon, not quite glaring, but not quite devoid of maliciousness either.
He snapped to attention when his liege gave him his orders. Sentry duty again. Skyquake tried not to let his growing disappointment show. He bowed again, the wings attached to his back swooping down and the flicking up as he straightened.
“Yes, Master. I shall bring you honour.”
With that, he turned around and headed for the cave entrance. Even if he would have preferred his role to be another, being told to attack any Autobots that may show up was a command Skyquake had no trouble following. So perhaps sentry duty wasn’t so bad, after all. He looked around once outside. Nothing so far. He cracked his knuckles and waited. Someone would come, and when they did, Skyquake would be there to destroy them.
Today she thought she’d get a break.The last few days had been crazy, attempting to recreate the scanner on Jazz’s ship the sigma. The creation part wasn’t hard, it was getting the equipment. Her head had been so wrapped around the project, she’d completely forgotten about the war. About her life problems, about everything. Perhaps being preoccupied was the best thing for her.
She’d been in the command center when Magnus called out herself and a mech whom she didn’t know. She watched as the mech turned on the groundbridge, rendering her half-clueless. She was an engineer, a youngling, and this mech decided she could fight?! To much faith.. she thought quietly. She had no room to argue, which she followed the two into the groundbridge, and to their destination.
The sun was bright, more of a distraction. She’d squinted her optics a tad bit, to the point where she activated her visor. By then, the mech known as ‘Zephyr’ had taken off, and she was left with the Magnus. Her right forearm armor transformed into a sniper rifle, following Magnus’ example.. She’d heard stories about him, both bad and good. He had been Optimus’ second in command for the longest time. According the Wheeljack, the mech had been put in charge of the wreckers. And she didn’t need another moment to noticed how to code he was.
As Stormgear and Magnus held their position, she took a peek at her scanner. “This thing is huge. Were not even a mile south, and this thing is blowing up my scanner.” She stated. She flipped a switch to her depth indicator. Caves, so many caves. “The signal might be underground. There’s a huge cave system underneath us.” As she spoke, she forgot that she was stating the obvious… nervous habits.
As soon as the orders had been given to report to the mine, V had taken off. Although her loyalties were, ultimately, to the Seeker that Megatron had gifted her to, she still had orders to obey. She was still part of the pecking order among the Nemesis. More than that, Starscream was still loyal to Megatron, and therefore his orders were hers. She had flown off with the rest of the Eradicons, and stood tall and straight at her post.
The warlord’s orders reached her audials, and V turned her helm to face him. Although she had no “face” to speak of, the subtle tilt of her chin showed how intently she was listening. She had come to the mine under Skyquake’s supervision, but it seemed as though Megatron had something else in mind for her. With a gentle dip of her helm, V turned away from the two and moved towards the miners. They were going to have to get them out of here as soon as possible, per Megatron.
But more than that, they were going to have to get out of there before the Autobots showed up. Unlike their Vehicon and Eradicon brothers, the miners had little to no defense. They would be mowed down without a second’s thought if the Autobots discovered them.
{{You heard Megatron,}} she sent through the comms, and turned her attention a nearby gaggle of miners, {{He wants this mine cleaned up IMMEDIATELY. Double time! Unless you want to end up as cannon fodder.}}
V swore she heard a “We’re already cannon fodder” from nearby, but ignored it. It wasn’t worth the pain or argument of acknowledging the truth; not right now.
Ultra Magnus? Asking her? Zephyr would have started fangirling, but the energon radiation was overloading her systems.
Zephyr quickly turned down the sensitivity of her energon sensors. Perhaps linking all her sensors to her biological systems wasn't the best idea after all.
~~~~~~
Zephyr stepped out of the portal. The crystal's location was easy to identify, so the first thing she did was to zoom in with her sniper rifle. She could identify where the mouth of the cave was, so when Ultra Magnus asked her to do a scouting run, she made a beeline for the cave.
::Is that Skyquake?:: Zephyr asked over the comm as she flew above. ::The greenish one is Skyquake, right?:: Hopefully her white armour could camouflage her against the clouds, preventing Skyquake from noticing, but a Cybertronian attack craft on Earth would be hard to miss.
Primes were respected, Megatron was fears. No soldier contradicted his orders. He was like a powerful god in the Nemesis… But outside? The other “god” was Optimus, a serious problems. Every battle between them was a real battle arena. How many times on the battlefield everyone had stopped to watch them fight? He had stopped counting long ago. Prime did not see it, but the Decepticon's leader… He knew it. He had always been a gladiator and despite his title, it will never change.
But today -Megs did not know it yet, but the Autobot won't knock the door with their leader this time. No. Magnus was in charge, and this guy was simply a foolish challenger. Skyquake had left his post. This seemed to displease him. It was evident. More ... Megatron was not in his heart that soldier. Yes, the incredible and terrifying leader was somehow "attached" to certain of his soldiers, but Skyquake ... He did not like him too. Why ? Manipulate his brother was easy, but not him. Also this affected Dreadwing that arose more and more questions. Sky' was too much aggressive, causing problems. That is why the leader asked for it could be more outside as possible on the ground than in the Nemesis. Have on board make troubles… more than with Predaking with example, who just scare some bots.
V3389 was totally unknown. If fact, he do not remember why she is graded… and he do not care about it. If she do her job, it's totally okay and… oh? It's a fembot? He did not hate the fembots at contrary. Those in his ranks have many strong traits. They are smart and great to manage a team. Megatron is not sexist, he has realized that they are helpful ... but can be a bit more fragile. Shame. The fembot went to do his job too. Perfect. He will enter in the battle once the ambush engaged. But the miner was right… If they don't do her job correctly, his canon could shoot "accidentally".
He approached the crystal with interest. And if there were others? He must speak with Shockwave. Maybe one of his "critters" could find more of them? With much energon, they could defeat once and for all their enemy. Definitely. He touches it with his hand. It gave off a lot of energy. So he pulled his hand away. That made vibrate his spark. Strange.
- … Hum. You.
He turned to V3389. Megs put his hands in his back as always. There was a large order should be given. If the Decepticons must lose, so also the Autobots.
- If the Autobot come here, potentially makes us retreat… Blow up the crystal.
This will explode the place and destroy the mine, probably causing a huge crater, but no matter. This will surely kill the Autobots. Anyway, they have other mines.
"That will mean a mine," Ultra Magnus responded to Stormgear's assessment. Big energon signal, underground cave network. The Decepticons were taking advantage of a natural cave formation, digging it out further to expose veins of Energon. Either they'd found a very rich vein or uncovered a very large crystal. Either way, it worried Ultra Magnus. His Autobots needed to deny the Decepticons that resource, by capturing it if possible or destroying it if necessary. "Map that system as best you can, the more info we have on it the better off we'll be when the energon hits the fan."
The big blue bot had been halfway on the path to telling Zephyr that he had no idea if what she was seeing was Skyquake when she gave more detail. "Yes, heavy set and green is Skyquake. Stay up high, Stormgear and I are going to move up our position. When the time is right you swoop down and get him looking up. That's when we'll ambush him. Hopefully we can disable him quickly and gain entrance to the mine, he's not our priority right now." He waved Stormgear to follow him and began trekking his way toward the location Zephyr's signal said was the right direction.
Skyquake paced the entrance to the mine. His master had said that the Autobots had surely picked up on the crystal’s energy. That meant they would be arriving soon, if they hadn’t already. The horizon stayed devoid of enemies, however. Still, Skyquake paced. He was spoiling for a fight. It had been too long since he had landed his fists on anything that would fight back. Training drones didn’t count.
A bleep in his systems made him stop and turn. Red optics scanned as far as they could see. Nothing. But he had felt something. Skyquake’s engine rumbled his annoyance. Perhaps he should have brought a couple of Vehicons and Eradicons with him; not the miners, but the ones that had accompanied him in his inspection of the mine. Skyquake hated to admit it, but his frame was still recovering from the long stasis.
He raised a hand to his comm. “NY-155 and 7-P3O, report to the entrance. Everyone else, stand by.” As an afterthought, he added, “Provide aid if the Eradicon that Lord Megatron put in change requests it.”
Stormgear was glad Ultra Magnus didn’t scold her for relaying obvious information. Before she had even stepped through the groundbridge, she’d classified Magnus as a soldier: the type of person who did what they were told, and did what had to be done. And sometimes, the kind of person needed data to make a logical decision in battle, and during their daily lives. He strangely reminded Storm of her dad, Always going by the books. Only he lacked her father’s persona, and was more contained when it came to personal opinions. Or, well, that’s what she heard from Wheeljack’s hard-to-ignore ranting about the mech.
After Magnus told her to map the caverns, She placed a great deal of effort to cover her cringeful expression. Before Magnus had called her out in the base, she was already mapping the area near the energon signal. Simply put: she had a decent map of anything within a fifty mile radius. I’m always prepared.. she thought.
“According to my pre recorded data, there’s a cavern opening less than a mile away. The second closest one is thirty five miles to the southwest. If my calculations are correct, any means to use the longer route will give the Decepticons a higher chance to escape with whatever that signal is.” She paused for a brief moment. Three signals popped up on her scanner, unknown lifeforms. Decepticons. “That’s odd, I'm picking up non-autobot signals near the cavern’s mouth. I have a feeling that the energon signal is messing with any nearby scanner firewalls. So if we can pick the con’s signals up, they can pick ours up as well..”
If she was correct, Zephyr had her cloak activated. She was the safest out of the trio. Not even Storm could pick her up. “Ultra Magnus, do you have any form of signal cloak by chance? If we get close enough, the ‘cons might detect us before we ambush the guards.” she stated. “I have my temporary one, but it works at a certain distance.”
If there was one good thing about being a Vehicon, it was that they were all mass-produced. So while Seekers were weaker than Frontliners, and medics less armored than a field soldier, all Vehicons were made of the same mold. The only difference between V3389 and the masses was simply her color, and even that was shared by a number of the other Eradicons. They were just Starscream’s personal armada, and that was the only thing “special” about them.
So when Megatron gave his orders, V3389 simply nodded her hand in acknowledgement. They had a job to fulfill, and she was going to ensure its success. The only thing that made her hesitate, however, was the fact that there were still miners within the mine. They were of little consequence to Megatron, but to her? They were her brothers, and others like her. She was going to do what she could to protect them.
{{Megatron wishes to keep the Autobots from the energon and its mine at all cost,}} she relayed, and turned her attention back to the miners. Her spark pulsed in empathy. {{Retrieve what you can and retreat. This is not a joke, and it is certainly a drill. Grab what you can and leave.}}
With a glance over at her fellow silver Eradicons, V nodded once more. Whether or not the miners got out of there, it was still their duty as soldiers to fight for the Decepticon cause. And that was fine, V told herself, but they just had to make sure to keep the civilians out of harm’s way. Because no matter what anyone else said, the miners were just civilians, and they deserved better than to die because they were simply doing their job.
