Player Alias: @sparkles
Character Name: Whirl (IDW G1 MTMTE)
Allegiance: Rouge Autobot
Appearance Description:
Personality: Whirl is crazy enough that he brings the world a whole new meaning. His psychotic behaviour, lack of rationality and down right madness is what makes him to be noticeable figure in the crowd, despite his empurata. Evidence of these traits consist in his desire to kill with as much collateral damage done, randomly jumping into the middle of a brawl, and his ideals and claims that he is unvinicble. He'd even to go as far as too punch himself in the face to prove it, especially on camera.
Despite his lack in rationality, Whirl does have traces of it along with other traits such as what he would call kindness and friendliness. He would instantly deny it afterwards. Among other Autobots, Whirl is wild card who is usually not liked among his peers who aren't "combat fanatics".
Strengths + Weaknesses:
+ Despite his slim frame and exposed, it offers a wide range of dexterity which is useful in combat.
+ Empurata claws are fairly large and surprisingly durable enough to be used as Whirl's melee weapon of choice as they alone can cause a lot of damage. Doors would be a problem if he couldn't punch through them
+ While he can feel pain despite his claims of being unvincible, Whirl's insanity helps to fight on. Somehow the pain makes him more angrier.
- Is great at starting (attempt at least) a mass-murder. Just getting him to stop is the hard part.
- His body, save for his upper torso and fore arms, is freakishly thin. This makes most of his body exposed and venerable to damage.
- He isn't someone to negotiate with. He will either fight you or he will spend the next few months harassing you of being a coward.
- Depth Perception Whirl's no.1 nemesis due to his one optic. He has a tendency to miss most of his shots.
Abilities: None
Weaponry:
The Shoomer
> A weapon fashioned by the weapons expert Brainstorm. The weapon was specially made for Whirl to grip and use the weapon with ease as his claws make it near impossible to grip a wide range of weaponry. It also makes a "shoom" sound when fired.
Dual Chest Cannons
> Weapons attached to his anatomy under his chest. Useful for up close and personal shootings.
Empurata Claws
> These articulate blunt replacements for his hand are perfect for brutal beatings. It is useful for denting armour if not ripping it off
History: Before the war, Whirl did something which was impossible at the time. He changed jobs. The former Aerial Corps member turned into a watchmaker. Life was fine for Whirl, until the Functionist Council got angry and wanted a cut of Whirl's earnings. When Whirl refused, the heavies tore it down.
Whirl then left for the Dead End, getting in with a bad crowd and into fights. Whirl's ruthless fights caught the eye of the senate. They wanted Whirl to be a "loose cannon" shall we say. History repeated itself. Whirl said no, only this time he got the "chop". His hands and head where removed and replaced with claws and a head with only on single optic as the face. Whirl then succumbed to the senate's will before they did anything else to him.
Whirl was granted a position at the Rodion police force. When a miner from Tarn was brought in for brawling with other officers, Whirl was ordered by the senate to kill him. He was then stopped and arrested by his captain Orion Pax and brought to the Grand Imperium to confront the senate. Soon after Pax left, his new cellmate, Impactor beat him to the point of fade-out.
Due to Orion's public display, Whirl was sent Garrus 1. He much later used his one call to request Orion to visit him in his cell so Whirl can warn his former captain about a bomb. When the the war started, Orion Pax- Now known as Optimus Prime- personally invited Whirl to join the Autobots before the Decepticons got to him. For a short time he changed his name to Jetstream and became a flight instructor.
Whirl later joined the Wreckers. He was in the team that triumphed over Squadron X on the planet Pova. When they discovered there was no jurisdiction on the planet and had to let them go. Impactor, the Wrecker leader at the time, wasn't having any of it and murdered the Squadron in cold blood while Whirl took no action, only looking away in shame.
The incident was brought up to High Command. To avoid being sentenced, Whirl and the other Wreckers lied and told Springer they had no idea Impactor was planning to kill them. Springer believed them and defended their inaction at Impactor's trail.
Some point during the war Whirl established a rivalry with Killmaster. This ended when Whirl broke into a Decepticon medical centre where Killmaster was recharging and crushed the Decepticon's brain module while he slept, but not before he shoved Killmaster's wand up the Decepticon's- AHEM!
Years passed with Whirl being in the Wreckers until he was kicked out by Roadbuster for trying to painlessly kill a comatose Springer, an act of mercy. Whirl ended up in prison and was given a "final warning" by Ultra Magnus to stay out of trouble.
