Character Name:
Drift, formerly Deadlock
Allegiance:
Formerly Decepticon.
Borderlining Neutral.
Borderlining Neutral.
Appearance Description:
Standing at 28 feet and weighing 8.5 tons, Drift's form hints to a speedsters build.
His colour pallette is based in white, while bands of red colour his middle. Black shades joints and upper limbs. This distinguishes Drift even from a distanced glance but allows him to blend in relatively well to the surrounding area.
Reframing has left him with an exaggerated figure, one not unlike a hourglass. Round edges and cinched waist respectively. The pronounced thigh armour mimic a traditional japanese garb known as 'Hakama', and slim calves imitate Gaiters. Caricaturing this look to its fullest.
Broad shoulders widen his stance, giving body to an otherwise unassuming mech.
Two fin-like protrusions sweep three inches away the top of his helm.
With all of this combined, Drift takes on a stereotypical Samurai likemanship.
When not in root form, Drift's alternate mode is of a streamlined sportscar, something similar to that of a Veyron Bugatti.
Personality:
Introvert by nature, Drift is a bot of few words and disciplined action. An enthusiastic spiritualist on a self-punishing crusade, Drift is lost in the past, searching for absolution from the deeds he has done. He will strive to be helpful whatever the cost, going so far as to put his own life on the line if the situation calls for it. Behind that is a bleeding heart of gold, and someone who can't sit around and watch others suffer. But as Drift might WANT to be peaceful, every time he feels threatened, upset, or thinks that people aren’t taking him seriously, his natural instincts are to revert to violence. He can keep a lid on it most of the time, but when his emotions overwhelm him, it gets out, and when he’s angry, sometimes habits slip.
With an addictive personality, Drift wants to be part of something, and despite his wandering, he is quick to surround himself in anything others see him worthy of/or seem any good at. Acceptance and appraisal is an ingrained necessity Drift can't quite shake.
Weaponry:
Deadlock was a master of firearms, but along with his past, this too has been buried for the better. Drift vowing never to take up that type of weaponry ever again. And though he hasn't forgotten this skill, he has traded it for his Swordsmanship.
Now, twin short swords are sheathed at the hip, and a Great Sword ( an ancient weapon that predates modern civilisation ) rests between shoulder blades. The Great Sword draws upon the spark energy of its bearer, and as such, must only be used in the direst of circumstances.

- Expert combat skills.
- Enhanced capabilities (strength, endurance, speed, etc).
- Removable armour.
- Adaptive + Weather/Element-proof.
- Transforming.
History:
Drift was a member of Cybertron’s forgotten; Homeless, casteless and without peer on all the face of Cybertron.
At least, not until he met Gasket and his gang. They merged to form a relentless rabble that did what it took to survive in the degrading streets of the magnificent cities of Cybertron. When Gasket was killed by the very police assigned with the duty to safeguard the inhabitants of the city, gunned down for saving the life of a suspected thief, Drift drew the fallen weapons of a disarmed officer, and proceeded to eliminate the rest of the patrol in merciless fashion.
It was this act that cemented his opinion with regards to the rot within Cybertronian Government and this act alone that drew the attention of Megatron, cementing his rank within the Decepticons.
Since that fateful incident the now “Deadlock” steadily rose through the hierarchy. Feared on both sides of the conflict; a merciless warrior who rarely gave quarter, even to his own allies, Deadlock was one of Megatron’s most trusted warriors.
Much later, on the planet Dabola, Deadlock led a battalion against an Autobot squadron. Triumph was made when they called a retreat, and Deadlock's team celebrated in kind. But this was spoiled when one of the soldiers under his command pointed out that Deadlock had been ordered to merely observe, and once again, disobeyed orders. When said soldier threatened to inform Turmoil of Deadlock's disobedience, Deadlock killed him. Claiming Turmoil was too cautious in his authority and that it was time for new leadership. He called for the other soldiers to follow him, but instead, they summarily captured him and brought him to Turmoil. The larger decepticon using a stasis lock to trap him in robot mode and attempted to execute him. However, deadlock managed to escape, and after initiating an emergency protocol to cover his escape, stole an escape pod and departed the ship.
Roleplay/Writing Sample:
A scowl deepens, one that Drift doesn’t quite realise was there. The true distain shows through a brief lapse of control. Chidingly, he releases, he should have recognised the voice sooner.
Because the visage of the purple lord, whether sporadic or not, still carves a gaping hole in the svelte mech's memory. The time spent on Kimia, the transgressions that transpired there, were something the white mech would rather not recall. Drift's vision of the heart of darkness still burns behind his minds eye. The sharp pain in his chest reminds himself of just what had happened because of it.
He would have been content to have forgotten the horned mech entirely. But fate was not so kind, and would continue to hound him with its past.
