Player Alias: Jim
Character Name: Skyquake
Allegiance: Decepticon
Appearance Description: With a thickset yet elegant frame, Skyquake stands about thirty feet (a little over nine metres) tall in robot mode, which makes him marginally taller than his split-spark twin, Dreadwing. He has strong legs and arms, and a wide chest. His plating is dark-green and silver with crimson highlights on his wings and fins, his cockpit is dark-golden, and his optics are red. His alternate mode is a modified Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II fighter jet.
Personality: Like his twin, Skyquake values honour and loyalty above all else. He has sworn fealty to the Decepticon Cause—and to Megatron—both in frame and spark. To him, nothing is more important than living and dying by what he believes to be true and good. Nothing would honour him more than pass on in the battlefield, defending his ideals and the bright future his master has promised.
There are two things that would make Skyquake stray from the path he has chosen for himself, and since they include either his brother or his master betraying him, neither of them are likely to happen. Skyquake revels in this; for despite being a mech who tends to favour action over stillness, he is rather fond of the unshakeable stability that comes with having the pillars upon which he has built his function standing firm.
Weaponry: Out of all the instruments of destruction available, Skyquake’s favourite is his fully automated firearm—a scatter blaster that has been his companion since the time of the Great Exodus, modified with an ion cartridge to increase the amount of ammunition within a clip and a hyper-interlink to speed up reload time. He is also skilled with his blade, an ancient but well-kept longsword, but prefers to leave swordplay, something he sees as a private pastime rather than a combat skill, out of the battlefield.
Strengths + Flaws: Perhaps unsurprisingly, Skyquake has a hard time controlling his temper. Despite being a seasoned warrior, he still commits the rookie mistake of letting his enemies—and even his allies, on occasion—drive him into a rage. Impatient and prideful, he turns into a reckless fighter when his emotions get the best of him, and he will stop at nothing short of his master or brother intervening until either he or his opponent can’t continue fighting. Moreover, he regards conversations as a battle of wills, and he has no trouble turning them into a physical confrontation to get his point across.
Skyquake has a strong sense of fealty that makes him the perfect mech to rely on, but sometimes it works against him. This is because it has two recipients: While he is loyal to Megatron and the Cause, there is someone who has his devotion and who, as opposed to his master, has always had it: Dreadwing. This factor, combined with Skyquake’s irascible nature, makes him difficult to work with when he is faced with a situation where he must snub one in favour of the other.
Unlike his twin, he is all brawn and no brains. This doesn’t mean that he is dumb; he is actually quite smart in his own way, but he has a tendency to go in head-first without thinking things through, which lands him into a hotbed of trouble more times than not. He is a formidable fighter as well, but he is not indestructible; his larger mass puts him at a disadvantage when fighting in close quarters with smaller and nimbler bots since they can strike at the tender gaps between his armour and retreat to safety before he has a chance to retaliate.
History: Despite his loud mannerisms, Skyquake holds his personal information close. Not much is known about him previous to his involvement with the Decepticons except that he holds a special brand of hatred for nobles, especially those who used to have constructed-cold indentured servants. He joined the Cause with his spark-split twin and fought in Megatron’s name during the War.
Even though he was just as capable a warrior as Dreadwing, his more impulsive personality kept promotions away from him, which suited him just fine. He remained a common if talented soldier throughout most of the conflict. Eventually, he became Air Squad Leader in his brother’s Seeker Armada. He made sure to perform his duties with outstanding diligence during this time, not wanting to have a negative impact on his twin’s career or do less than his absolute best for the Cause.
After the Great Exodus, he left the main Decepticon fleet on Megatron’s orders to look after the energon deposits on some far-flung planet. He has now been in stasis on Earth for quite long time, waiting for either his brother or master to come rouse him from his sleep so he can stand by their side once again.
