Same old, same old..
Just another ordinary day at the Crown City base for the Autobots, and it had been no exception for the local Dinobot. Grimlock walked around, in search of something to kill his boredom. The others would occasionally go out on patrol, but poor Grim had had to miss out on the last couple of missions. Something about 'too many accidents' or 'close calls with the humans' or 'cats'.
Ok, maybe not so much cats, but you never knew when one of those horrifying creatures was gonna show up and shoot lightning at you from their whiskers. That's what Sideswipe had told him! For what reason would the sports car lie?
Felines aside, there was always that idea that he could change his alt-mode. Was that a thing though? Even if it was, Grimlock was happy with who he was. He was a Dinobot, and he didn't want to go changing that. Sure, it made things difficult, and forced him to hide under a tarp on a trailer every time he wanted to help on a mission, but being a Dinobot was one thing he was good at! Well, that and punching things. That was two specialties right there, and no one was gonna tell him any different.
Unless..
That's when the idea to make a pretend alt-mode came to the Dinobot's processor. Sure, he couldn't change into the form, but that didn't mean he couldn't decorate himself to look like one. The monster truck idea he'd used on Russell was pretty fun, but maybe if he thought hard enough on it, he could find something even better to change into! The large mech went through the salvage depot, looking through Denny's assortment of tires and other car parts to see what all he could come up with.
Maybe if he was lucky, he'd get to surprise someone with his finished idea. Maybe even Bumblebee~

Honestly, Jazz just wanted out and this long drive was just what the doctor ordered. At least the doctor in Jazz's processor did. He'd been cooped up long enough. If there was something that could irk the otherwise level-headed bot? It was being stuck in base where he had to stick around for protocol meetings. Prowl was a stickler for those and knew that Jazz HATED them. Sometimes he thought the tactician did it on purpose! Okay, he thought he did it on purpose all the time... Besides the point. Now that things had sort of settled down at base? Jazz wanted to get out and see some sites. He'd gone through bothering all the other bots at base with figuring out who they were and now it was time to explore outside of there. He'd heard that there were some in this Crown City location and he was curious just who was there. Were they limited to there? Jazz didn't have such a place saved in his memory core so it was time to explore! That was what he did best, after all. The sound of his engine revving was something to take note of. His classic alt mode? Even more of a curious site, especially in a time when the most supped up vehicles and muscle cars dominated the road. Jazz had seen quite a few of those on the road but didn't even bother. He had a sport car spark and this mode suited him just fine. Not to mention he had agility on his side that most of the others didn't, which was represented just as he turned a corner to take him through the entry of the base his routers directed him to and into... Well. ALMOST into Grimlock's leg. It was now the sound of screeching tires and the smell of burning rubber that filled the area as Jazz's rear end spun around as result of the sudden lock of his front wheels in a wide drifting motion that brought him around the large pedes of the big guy he'd almost collided with, half circled around the front, and stopped on the other side. Now still, he sat parked in silence for a bit to process what had happened. That wasn't a lengthy process at all. "Woah, man! Didn't see ya!" The familiar sound of a transformation sequence coming to life. Jazz unfolded, coming to rise mainly from the hips down as his alt mode's hood never moved. As his waist made a complete 180, his back folded down behind him and his arms came out from under the hood. Which, in turn, went right to work brushing himself off. "That was totally my fault. Sorry'bout that. Sometimes I forgot to look both ways before crossin'." He grinned, looking up at the... "Holy- wow. Tell me you're the security detail, cause ain't no one gonna break in here with you on guard! Bet ya pack quite a punch, big guy." He grinned then held out his servo towards the stranger. "Name's Jazz. Figure I outta introduce myself since we always broke the ice by me nearly wrappin' myself around your pede like some poor excuse of a hood ornament."

Grimlock had been so distracted by his imagination that he didn't even realize an outsider had entered the base. He'd heard a car drive in, sure, but he had only assumed it had been Bee and the team, or Denny driving back after some massive nostalgic find. Never knew what that man was going to bring back, hence the roller coaster that they had had to help set up at the base.
At least it had some entertainment value when it came to Russell and Sari when she came to visit.
As Grim heard the vehicle approaching, he began to rush to collect various objects for his pretend vehicle mode project. The Dinobot wasn't quite sure where he was going with it just yet, but he had to make it quick. With any luck, it would all start to come together.
That was.. if he hadn't had to avoid the car that had almost collided with his leg. "Hey! What's the big i-."
The large mech turned around, taking notice to the mech who was now apologizing for nearly hitting him as he transformed. Another one of them! And from what he could tell, the guy was an Autobot, too. Probably for the best, cause that meant he wouldn't have to be punched. At least.. not yet anyway, especially with the compliments he was dishing out!
But there was one thing that bothered him, at least in Grimlock's mind. "How didja know I was a good puncher?" It completely baffled him, especially since they had just met, but regardless it got the mech to grin. "I mean.. I love punchin' stuff! It's my favorite thing to do!" So Jazz was the name of this strange mech, but he at least seemed like a cool guy from what the green one could tell. Grimlock chuckled, holding out a closed fist in order to initiate a fist bump. "Name's Grimlock, by the way. Nice to meet'cha, Jazz. So, uh.. What brings you here? You friends with Bee?"
