Safety in Distance [Comms call]

[OOC : Wherein Barricade makes a series of communications calls to the Nemesis to speak with Megatron from the safety of the Harbringer.]

To : Megatron

"This is the Decepticon warship Harbringer hailing the Nemesis. Requesting contact with Lord Megatron."

Megatron watched over his Vehicon troops, and had grown agitated when one had summoned him.  Someone was calling from the Harbinger, and they wanted to speak only to the warlord.  How curious..

    To:  Harbinger

State your business.  I warn you, whoever you may be, you will not enjoy the consequences if you waste my time.

[Barricade]

It actually took him by surprise when he laid optics on the Decepticon's leader.  Because that most certainly was NOT Lord Megatron.  At least not the one he remembered.  Interesting.

"My designation is Barricade, formerly a Decepticon scout."  He leaned back in his chair, which at present was the captain's seat on the Battle Bridge.  The bridge behind him was lit up and online.  "I wish to propose a trade.  I am willing to offer up several choice weapons from the Harbringer's armory in exchange for a little information."

One had guts to say something like that to the leader of the Decepticons.  However, it was curious to know what it was that he wanted to know.

    To:  Barricade

I admit that you have brawn to confess your former allegiances to me, however I do not take kindly to those who leave the Decepticon cause.  I will have you know that if you want information from me, you must be prepared to pay a high price.

Tell me about these weapons and what you wish to know.. and I will determine whether or not I deem your offering acceptable.

It was Megatron's fault he'd left the Decepticon army in the first place, just not this one.  He didn't know why he knew that now when he hadn't before, nor why there were different Megatron's, but that was how things were.

Megatron

There are a range of weapons, both long range and melee based.  The more interesting ones are capable of disrupting energy weapons over a wide area.  Most of the melee weapons are forged from the strongest Cybertanium metal.  Perhaps, most interesting is the large sniper rifle that seems very similar to a fusion cannon.

As for what I need to know, I require the logs from the time frame I landed on this planet.  Not my personal ones, obviously, more what was going on during that time since my files were corrupted.

And he had no idea what had happened, hadn't run into anyone he could trust enough to ask, Jazz aside.

Indeed these weapons sounded marvelous and could indeed serve use to the Decepticon cause.  Whether he allowed his highest ranking soldiers to use them, or give them to the Vehicon troops, it mattered not.  So long as they could actually make use of the thing.  Of course, anything resembling a fusion cannon?  He would be keeping that for himself!

I admit that I am rather intrigued by your offer.  If you can provide me with these weapons, then I will answer all of your questions to the best of my ability.

But of course, I would need a clearer time than what you say as I do not know when it was you arrived on this planet.  Much has happened during our battles against the Autobots.

Name a drop-off zone, Lord Megatron. I'll leave the weapons in a crate there.

I arrived two Earth years ago, in late...September I believe it was. I remember being under Starscream's command at one point because you were not present, but that is all.

And he had to trust that Megatron wouldn't double deal him on the weapons. Besides, his cache of them was impressive enough and he was a soldier as well. Perhaps, if he did this right, he might not get shot on sight by the Decepticons.

Very well.  I will send you the coordinates to the mine nearest to our location at present.

The coordinates had been sent out and Barricade would now know where the weapons needed to go.  Hopefully the Vehicons wouldn't be so foolish enough to interact with them, otherwise they risked the lose of a mine, but at the same time the loss of one asset was hardly a blow to the Decepticon cause.

I see.  Much has happened since that time.  We have since been on the hunt for the Iacon Relics, however my troops have failed to bring me more than the Polarity Gauntlet.

[Barricade]

To : Megatron

Coordinates received, expect shipment later today.

After he'd had the chance to gather up the ones he'd offered and crate them, that is.  It would take him awhile to get to where the Decepticon leader wanted the crate left, so he'd leave as soon as the comm ended and he'd gathered what he'd promised.  And Megatron was handling this interaction very well, he was surprised.  It was like seeing back in time to when the mech was less insane.

To : Megatron

Hmmm...I knew something big was going on, just not what it was.  Might I ask if you and I had ever met prior to this conversation?

[Megatron]

Barricade could think that Megatron was handling this calmly all he wanted, but the truth was that he wasn't completely wrong.  He acted calm to get his way, because he knew that it would get him those weapons that could aid them in their battles against Optimus Prime and the Autobots.  He was still the war-crazed former gladiator that wanted to take control of their former home.


    To:  Barricade

I believe we may have met once before, yes.. however it was so many soldiers ago that I have vague memory of ever doing so.  You must remember that the Decepticon army has quite a large amount of soldiers.

All of which were ready to do his bidding at any given time..


    To:  Barricade

I intend to meet you at the coordinates I gave you earlier.  I want to be present when you hand over the weapons you promised.

[Barricade]

So Lord Megatron wasn't all that familiar with him. He didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad one. It didn't seem as though the warlord remembered his defection when it had actually been happening, but then again he couldn't remember the exact timing of it either.


To : Megatron

I understand completely. You have far too much to deal with to recall one soldier among many. I appreciate you answering my questions.

And did Megatron think he was stupid enough to come down to meet him with the weapons? The mech was three times his size at least and gladiator ruthless. He'd have to keep his distance from the other while the trade went down.

I merely answered your questions as you paid the price in order to gain them.

It seemed that Barricade was now in agreement that Megatron would meet with him while the trade was going on.  There was no way that he would leave that to his Vehicon troops, or even his higher ups.  He couldn't risk losing that sort of weaponry whether it be by accident or by betrayal.

Do you have any more questions for me or was that all you had to ask of me.  I will not allow my time to be wasted.
