It was good to be here, back where she could be of use. So much time had passed, and so many friends lost that she wondered if things would ever be marginally the same for her again. For sure she'd never be a simple medic, content to treat the young and the carrying of her kind without thought to the world beyond. She'd been in battle, she'd killed in defense of wounded soldiers. Her life was tainted by tragedy and chaos, and there was simply no returning to who she had been before. But...with so many lives around her now, and not nearly enough medical personnel, at least she had a purpose. She was needed here, and she'd already decided she would do whatever it took to make herself useful. Rather as a trained medic, or as a sniper. Whatever Optimus needed her to do. Today, however, was for reuniting with another medic she respected very much. Or officially meeting him, as their paths had never had reason to cross before now. She'd never been around this many high-ranking officers before, nonetheless the Prime himself, but that was for another time. She could be impressed by them all later, and discover for herself which soldiers liked to skip medical checks and learn to track them. Welding unruly patients was something she did fairly often back on Cybertron, and she had no problems hitting them with her rifle if it came down to it. Or welding hands to aft and dragging them to medical for evaluation. She could always put them back together, after all. Blizzard paused just outside the medbay doors and vented, steadying herself. Ratchet was a very good medic, she'd heard of his antics and heroics for many years. But he was still a medic, like herself, and there was no reason to be nervous at this meeting. So in she went, doorwings held aloft and neutral, moving with the motion of her frame, ready for anything. "Hello? Ratchet? My designation is Blizzard. I was told you were the one to seek out concerning anything medical related. I hear you could use a bit of trained assistance in here on occasion." She tried to keep her tone light, and hoped he wasn't nearly as cantankerous as the rumors of him suggested. Ratchet

Many tales had been spoken of Ratchet during the many stellar cycles of war. Tales of 'Ratchet the Hatchet' spun rampant, and even drove fear into the sparks of some, as if he had been some boogie mech that would scare those who did not take the utmost care of themselves. While they would say he was the greatest medic to have ever lived, his wrench throwing skills and his grumpy nature were feared by many. There were the tales of his kindness towards patients, but.. there hadn't been nearly as many of those as there were the others.
Ratchet paid them no mind.
He spent the day in the medical bay, for once not working on the Synthetic Energon formula. He'd wanted to spend the day updating records of everyone's health, making sure everything was up to date. It'd been some time since he'd gotten around to reorganizing, but that little extra energy he had thanks to Wheeljack had done the trick.
Only getting through the records of a few mechs and femmes, someone had entered the medical bay. They had introduced themselves as one named Blizzard. The name sounded familiar.. but where? She wanted to assist in the medical bay, which had caught the CMO's attention. Help was definitely needed when it came to doctors, and he'd take about anyone.
"You've come to the right place then. It's a pleasure to meet you, Blizzard. We have been rather short staffed for a long while, so we could use the extra help. For some time now it's been just Pharma and myself, as well as First Aid who I'm training. How much do you have in the way of medical skills?"
Maybe her answer would help jog his memory as to who she was.

The femme tipped her head to one side then looked up. Golden optics regarded the mech before her, considering his words and deciding to learn more of him for herself before declaring the rumors of him true or false. She never had been one for the tales told by scared soldiers, though she had been compared to this mech in temperament several times. Except she tended to act dispassionate while she did bodily harm to errant patients before dragging them back to the medbay for repairs. For her gentle spark, she could truly be scary if she had to be. "I am a fully trained medic, with my strength leaning towards carriers and spark related injuries and the surgery set needed to repair those injuries. I am also well versed in field medicine." Which was a similar but different set of skills altogether. Seeing as speed was needed more when one had to do surgery or make stabilizing and life-saving repairs during the middle of a firefight. Her tone was to the point, but not at all unkind. She was meant to be telling him of herself, not giving a report of some form. Blizzard had brought a box of the most important medical journals with her from her office on Cybertron, leaving behind countless others so that she wouldn't overburden the small pod she'd launched in. It was a loss to her, but most of those were on subjects that wouldn't be of much use during the war. She'd offer them for use by the medical team here, once she settled in more. Only a handful she'd written herself, and those were done on the way to this little backwater planet. "I hope my skills will be of some use." Ratchet

A medic that specialized in carrying and also spark related injuries.. A useful skill set that would be much appreciated in their ranks. While they technically did have three medics now, a fourth always made things easier, especially when she was skilled in areas that others might not have been. It gave them more to work with, and could lessen their load just a little more.
It certainly gave Ratchet more time to work on the Synthetic Energon formula.
"We could use skills like those. That's more coverage for areas that desperately need it, as well as give the others a chance to meet a new doctor. I admit that I run the medical bay quite sternly, but I only do so for the sake of the patients."
The CMO stepped closer to Blizzard, holding out a hand so that he could shake it.
"It's certainly good to have you aboard. Would you like me to give you a tour of the medical bay? That way I can get you familiar with your surroundings, and it would give you a chance to settle in before taking on any patients. I warn you though.. we have a few that like to try and escape medical attention by any means possible."
