Player Alias: Meezer
Character Name: Kaon
Allegiance: Decepticon
Appearance Description: Though his frame is a striking combination of red, silver, and gold, with pink biolights, what is initially most striking about Kaon are three features--his soulless, cold, black optics and his large tesla coils at his shoulders. He is of an average, albeit small height, with a thin, lanky frame other than his generator chest and tesla coil shoulders.
His altmode is a little less conventional, seeming like a strange, motorized electric chair. It contains the electrical generator, the cranial case, AND the seat, as well as operational treads.
Personality:
Outside of the DJD, and most definitely outside the Decepticons, Kaon seems to have a rather chilly demeanor. It seems rather ironic that the communications officer of the Decepticon Justice Division would be at times uncommunicative with others outside his job. However, within the DJD, he is notably more communicative, especially with his superior, Tarn, and with Vos, who he serves as translator for while ATTEMPTING to teach Vos Neocybex, though he's well-versed in Primal Vernacular.
He tends to take a particularly sick glee in going after the next target and ending them, as well as possibly doing the same to Autobots. Other things that give him a form of joy include The Pet, which he is surprisingly strongly emotionally attached to. He has similarly strong emotional attachments to his comrades among the DJD, especially toward his two closest comrades, Tarn and Vos. He looks up to Tarn immensely and respects his team's leader above all. He in addition has a particular fondness for Vos, having spent time translating for him and trying to teach him Neocybex. One of his other greatest joys is updating The List--the DJD's mission list of who to kill.
He tends to exhibit a strange dependence on the Pet. It may be due to personal affections, or it may be practical reasons. Or it may be both. But he is completely lost without The Pet and will NOT be seen without it notwithstanding extenuating circumstances.
Strengths + Weaknesses:
Perhaps Kaon's greatest strength is his resourcefulness in situations. He can survive, and sometimes even thrive in a difficult situation. If someone thinks about trying to trap him in some way, they would do wise to not be inside with him. If someone tries to attack, be sure he is unconscious or he will electrocute you. His altmode, if in an unobtrusive position, can be used to hide--just many of his examples of resourcefulness.
He is deft in the art of commuication--likely the reason he serves as the communications officer of the DJD. He will contact if it is official business and is aggressively polite and efficient in his speech when need be. It is also his job as communications officer to update The List.
Kaon is perhaps one of the most efficient in his work. Many of the DJD's victims have fallen to his electrocution long before anything else. If they have not, he has made sure they are paralyzed enough to meet their gristly fate another way. He is similarly efficient with his maintenance of the list, making sure the deserving end up on the list swiftly.
Perhaps his greatest weakness, according to some, is his emotional attachments that tend to be almost obsessive. He might be willing to foolishly risk members of his team and their ire for other teammates or for, especially, the Pet. He is almost NEVER seen without the Pet, either on a leash or in his arms.
His altmode itself presents a great liability. He is much more vulnerable in his altmode, lacking the ability to dodge too far. In addition, while at work with his altmode, he tends to be more open to attack from other sides if caught in a situation alone, or alone with a wounded comrade.
Perhaps what is a rather hard-to-pin down weakness is Kaon's own health. He is definitely known to be addicted to a mutant weapons-grade nucleon known as Nuke. It is also medically thought that the color of a Cybertronian's optics are influenced by the type and health of their spark and that the brighter the glow, the stronger the spark--that is, if Kaon even has optics and isn't relying on the Pet as his seeing-optic. If he does indeed have optics, his health is likely not at its greatest...
Abilities:
Kaon's main ability is electricity generation and attacks. The generator in his chest is able to generate immense amounts of energy he can direct through his tesla coils, the cranial cap of his altmode, or through his hands. He can modulate the current's intensity, the direction of the current, and how he delivers the current. His amplification of electricity knows no bounds.
Weaponry:
Kaon's main weapon is his in-built tesla-coils from which he often charges and fires electricity when he is not directing it through his hands. It is, of course, his external, natural, inbuilt weapon regardless of root mode and altmode.
While technically also a companion, The Pet could be considered Kaon's favored weapon. All he has to do is sic The Pet on someone, and its fangs and claws do the rest. He claims it to be a partially-domesticated turbofox sparkeater, but says it's more of a spark-chewer. There are rumors it was once a more sapient mech but so far no one's been able to prove it. Nor has it been proven whether or not The Pet is also a seeing-optic. Of course, this might just be conjecture since he can update the list.
History:
Cold-constructed as a Decepticon named Amp, it is not known much of his early history, except that he has always been a powerful electric chair. What is known, however, is that he was the second of the Decepticon Justice Division, and has been the definite constant other than Tarn in the group. Whether it is because he is possibly the original Kaon of the group is unknown.
What is also known is that he has maintained the List for the DJD for a long time. This responsibility is thought to have been given to him by Tarn, as the job of the Communications officer. However, it is also known that Kaon definitely came to the DJD long before Helex and Tesarus, and well before the current Vos.
Roleplay/Writing Sample:
Black, soulless optics seemed to be turned away from the mech before him who was begging. Who didn't know how he got on the list. An arc of electricity was already forming between the fingers of his right hand. This one wasn't even worthy of a seat. This one, blubbering in front of him would know true pain.
Kaon's hand reached to the top of the mech's helm, clenching, coursing electricity through the mech's cranial chamber. His left hand gripped a chain leash jealously and sharply. He seemed to continue in silence before he finally spoke.
"Sic him." His voice, unlike the electricity that coursed through him that had burned and blazed through circuits was icy, his malice as judge, jury, and executioner alongside his comrades. He only needed two words to convey it.
He gave a small, sadistic smile of glee. Seeing small fangs crush the spark thrilled him. Once he could see Tarn approaching, he tugged the Pet back sharply, almost harshly, but seemingly thoughtfully all at once. "Good work, my Pet." His tone was warm, but only for a moment.
Only for a moment before his silence returned and he slid out a datapad. Encoded upon its pages was a long list, a list of names. Deft fingers would mark the target as eliminated. The next name would pop up, and Kaon shivered with glee.
"We have our next target. I have located his whereabouts. Our old stomping ground, sir." He gave a chuckle that slowly started to form into a cackle. "We'll find the target at Delphi, on Messatine. A single leg cannot run forever."
