Player Alias:
Counterklock
Character Name:
Dreadwing
Allegiance:
Decepticon
Appearance Description:
Standing roughly the height of a rather well-known red-and-blue Autobot leader, and significantly broader, Dreadwing’s appearance is that of a heavy-hitting seeker-type, characterized by stocky legs and a thick, broad torso. His plating is deep blue and silver, with golden highlights.
Dreadwing’s alternate mode is the form of a modified Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II fighter jet.
Personality:
As a rule, Dreadwing tends to be more level-headed and cool-tempered in relation to his split-spark twin, Skyquake. Clever and calculating, he usually has the tactical advantage over most of his foes when they meet him in battle save a select few who can either meet him head-on in brute-strength or are quick and clever enough to outwit him long enough to escape.
Fiercely loyal, Dreadwing practically defines himself by the Decepticon Cause - his identity is tied up with that of the Cause (but perhaps not so much as it is tied to Skyquake). There is very little he would not do for Megatron, so dedicated and devoted to his Lord and Master’s desires is he. His very spark, after all, belongs to his Lord, something he is proud to proclaim.
Uncharacteristically so for a Decepticon, Dreadwing is a bot of extreme integrity. Honor is a very important thing to him, especially on the battlefield, and he loathes those who do not observe a basic sense of morality. Cowardice and underhanded tactics are not tolerated in any under his command.
Weaponry:
A known explosives expert, Dreadwing carries a very wide range of bombs, grenades, and other things that can explode. He controls them via a master triggering device that may or may not look like a human flip phone. One of his most common tactics is to set mines around an entire area and then detonate them from afar, stunning or incapacitating his foes.
Dreadwing, like his twin, also wields a large two-handed gatling gun-canon. He is particularly adept with it.
Finally, Dreadwing wields a longsword, a rather primitive weapon to bring to a gunfight, but, being an accomplished swordsman, it certainly poses a threat to any it is drawn against.
Strengths + Flaws:
Dreadwing possesses incredible tactical knowledge, and it is for this reason that Megatron appointed him a captain of one of the seeker armadas during the War. He is quick and calculating, and can use wits or brute strength in battle. Dreadwing also has a strong sense of honor. Finally, he is incredibly loyal to those who have earned it, and very little can shake that loyalty.
However, for all his tactical prowess, Dreadwing tends to get cocky. It is not so much an outwardly show in comparison to other bots, but his unspoken sense of pride has gotten the better of him on a few occasions, especially those where he has incorrectly assumed he has the upper hand. This has landed him in more than a few spots of trouble, and it is not something he particularly enjoys discussing. His loyalty is also a source of weakness - or, rather, his split loyalty. Though he is fiercely loyal to Megatron, it must be acknowledged that Dreadwing just might be ultimately more loyal to his brother; this can create extreme conflicts of interest within him and lead to serious consequences. If something were to happen to his brother, rest assured, Dreadwing would not rest until he had sought vengeance and retribution in his name against any and all responsible.
History:
Very little is known of Dreadwing’s past. Presumably, he and his twin brother joined Megatron’s Cause and fought in the War in his name. Dreadwing was granted the great honor of being named a captain of a seeker armada, and no doubt commanded with expert precision and efficiency. Also at some point in the past, he and Skyquake were separated on Megatron’s orders - Skyquake was sent to stand guard over precious energon deposits on some distant world, a sentinel in stasis until called upon, while Dreadwing remained at his post.
Having become separated at some point from the main Decepticon fleet for unknown reasons, Dreadwing travelled the galaxy, getting into minor skirmishes with the Autobots he encountered. Shortly before his arrival to Earth, he intercepted communications between the Autobot Wreckers Wheeljack and Seaspray; he sought to eliminate both of them before they could regroup with Optimus Prime and his people, but miscalculated, and only managed to blow up Seaspray’s ship. The resulting dogfight between himself and Wheeljack took place across multiple star systems.
Now, responding to his Lord and Master’s summons to this small backwater planet called ‘Earth’, Dreadwing has come to reaffirm his allegiance, and perhaps even be reunited with his brother.
