Player Alias: KromJax
Name: Gox
Faction: Decepticon
Occupation: A Spare Servo
Job description:
Gox’s job is simple: he transforms into a hand for his companion, Nines. Or anyone really. If anyone’s missing a servo or in need of an incredibly steady, strong, and graceful servo then Gox is the hand for them. He has incredibly grip, and can coordinate his body with a users nervous system perfectly. Just like a phone’s USB port, he can only connect to a certain type of frame, but that kind of frame is popular enough for him to be of grand use.
Appearance:
In robot mode, Gox is a two foot long spider. He has the build of earth’s basic jumping spider, with a stubby thorax and abdomen. His legs are sturdy, and often work together in pairs of two. Gox has four eyes that are relatively the same size, his optical lenses being similar to that of tiny pale silver cameras.
His legs are very twitchy, and traces of playfulness grace his optics mischievously. Being a tiny cybertronian spider, Gox’s body moves quickly enough that it looks like he’s “glitching” from side to side, tilting his little body with curiosity. His appendages have enforced plating at their second segments, and most of the small legs transform into digits, though a great deal of the armor on shifts as to adjust the digits accordingly depending on the size of the user, or their job. If the hand must be user to grip a heavy weapon, then ratchets and extra pistons are employed for such a purpose.
Personality:
Gox is mischievous. He likes to play around too much for his own good, and has no manners. He can be very nice, but he speaks his mind, which can get him into loads of trouble. He prides himself in speaking a heavy accented Primal Vernacular, preferring to not be understandable to most. He likes to keep loads of what he says to himself, but he hates keeping secrets, so he says it out loud in a way that no one understands him. He’s a non-stop chatterbox, and will chitter anyone’s ears off.
Gox likes his job as a hand most of the time. But he can be a very stubborn and independent little bot, and goes off on his own and slacks off every now and then. After all, it’s tough being a hand, because you’re doing all the dirty work, and you’re the one feeling all the muck, grease, and garbage everyone’s lifting up.
His off-hours are dedicated to nothing but mischief and adventure. He’s a curious little arachnid, and no planet’s too big for him to explore.
There is a very good-natured side to him though. It can be very tricky to get to, or the easiest thing in the world depending on who you are.
Weapons:
Gox doesn’t so much have weapons, rather, he carries a great amount of helpful little gadgets and tools meant for multiple purposes. Combat isn’t one of them though.
Surgical blades: Gox has extra sharp cutters that can come out of his legs or fingers for delicate surgeries.
Miniature Fusion cutters: Gox has been outfitted with these as well. These can have a low setting where they cauterize a wound for medical purposes, or can cut through solid metals for escape purposes. These take a lot of energon if they’re used for the latter though.
Sensory needles: With these tiny needles, Gox is able to tap into a vein or artery, or whatever pin-head thick pipe. Variations of these can be used for obtaining energon samples as well. (Gox CAN theoreticallyuse this opportunity for getting a quick snack, but the energon isn’t as healthy for him, and Nines stops giving him treats for a while)
Abilities:
Digit adjusting: His alternate mode is a hand, but it’s the best hand a mech or femme could hope for. Gox can not only use parts stored in his subspace to slightly adjust the size of the hand, but he can also control and slide which digit is where on the servo as well, or what kind of digit might need to be modified. If someone needs two thumbs for a quick sec, then boom, they’ve got two thumbs.
Connected: Gox can connect to a users nervous system, sincing himself with them. They can control him like he was naturally their hand after some flexing and getting used to. However, Gox can also help a user during any situation by supplying the sort of digit they’re in need for, or helping to steady their grips. He can also completely take over as someone’s hand as a co-pilot.
Strengths:
General know-how: Gox has been many people’s hand. He’s been a surgeons, engineers, a mechanics, and more. He’s held many different little precise tools, and has his own to deploy. He knows hwo machines work, how to treat and how to guide his user in their job. By himself he is a capable medic to some degree, and is very able to perform repairs on any little gizmos by himself. His only limitation is his strength.
Quick: Gox can move fast. Really fast. Just like how spiders can move too quick for the eye to see for a sharp millisecond, Gox can do the same. While he isn’t zipping around all the time, he tends to be able to crawl and jump un comfortably rapidly. His leg are almost always a blur when he’s “jerking” from place to place. As any could guess, it’s incredibly hard to catch or hit him.
Generally resilient: Being a hand designed for multiple jobs, Gox’s exo skeleton is a resilient one. While it’s NOT meant for battle, he can maintain functions just fine in areas of heat or cold. He has some acid resistance as well.
Awesome Immune system: Gox is immune to most toxins, poisons and plagues. He’s not contagious at all. In fact, he’s likely the cleanest arachnid around, and has excellent personal high-gene.
Sharp optics: All four of Gox’s eyes have almost microscopic vision, he can hone in closely to an object, and adjust his lenses to great degrees.
Weaknesses:
Too much of one thing is bad: While he can be quite fine in a cold, hot or acidic environment, if any of said habitats are in the extremes, he gradually begins to overheat, freeze, die, etc. He’s a tiny little thing afterall.
One hit, one kill: Gox’s life is a frightening one. Any light or heavy firearm can kill him. As one might guess, someone carrying loads of weaponry scare him, and nothing frightens him more than loud gun-like noises.
Hard to fix: Being a tiny little gadget-bot, his pieces are hard to find, he is a scuttling chorus of rare pieces. Scarping him would put a lot of those rare pieces out of use, but repairing him is rather hard as well. Not only because he’s full of unique pieces, but because he’s also full of tiny unique pieces.
Mischievous: Gox’s lack of discipline often leads him into hazardous predicaments. He says what he thinks in a way he believes no one to understand. He’s also a little prankster, prone to cause trouble one way or another.
Fear of heights: Free falling is simply petrifying for him. He gets into a scared trance when he looks faaaaaaaar down.
Gullible: Gox is smart when it comes to job, but a little easy to manipulate. His nature of wanting to find a companion in people has lead to a lot of abusive partners. But the fact that he’s had so many good partners coaxes him to keep trying.
Not strong at all: As a hand, it could say that he’s technically strong. He’s only as strong as the wearer is, since he connect up with their tendons and cables. Depending on the torque they divvy out Gox’s strength varies. However, when he’s alone, he’s pathetic by most standards. The only thing he can carry perfectly is his own weight.
Lazy: Gox likes hard work, but some days he mysteriously disappears for no reason in particular to slack off. He likes to relax a bunch too. He has a tendency to do this more or less depending on the attitude of his user.
Stasher: Gox Likes shiny little things, or nifty looking do-dads that look strange and fun to him. He will collect and collect tiny useless object and create a small pile of “stuff” (simply put) wherever he calls home. He can get clingy to some of his stuff, which can really
distract him. His piles are also easy guesses of where to find him.
History:
Gox was at first many of a brood of little spider-attatchments invented by the Quintessons. The small line of spiders were meant to be at first little trading bots indicating an overall peace between Quintesson and Cybertronian kind, but the tiny robonoids had another side that would rear up: they could act as parasites top their cybertronian hosts, and also cause great damage to the internal systems of a transformer. Rather than having some giant mass secret order, The Quintessons made their little eight legged gifts walking time bombs, placing in each the date when they would gradually turn their cybertronians counterparts into (figurative) vegetables.
This plan may have very well pulled through if the Quintessons hadn't given their little gizmos endearing personalities, and little hearts of their own. They were manufactured hastily, and even after ages after their feuds with cybertronians, the transformers saw through the five-faced folks lie. Little to no spiders were purchased. If so, they were closely examined, or even dissected.
It only took the Quintessons a few years to see their products weren't selling. Thousands of little critters were thusly scrapped, killed and recycled, save for at least one. One of the prototypes escaped with a small brood, and found his way onto a war-torn cybertron, where, ironically he was accepted by a Cybertronian. The certain patchy medic who adopted and grew to love Gox never came to realize Gox's original purpose. Gox was defective to his little timer, and thus, never abused his ability.
Gox was separated from Nines unfortunately, and left to try to find his way through the universe once again...
