Characters: Glowstrike, Open Location: Crown City Lake edge where it meets the surrounding forest Content Warnings: N/A, maybe violence Plot Summary: After several failed missions and words of Autobot interference, Glowstrike has decided to take things into her own servos and see what exactly the problem is for herself.
A handful of missions stopped, several rumors passing among her ranks about Autobots being on this dirtball of a planet. Each one spoke of being discovered and stopped by a ragtag team, that there were more than just this little group lurking about. They told her they brought what they could, cut their losses so they were not put back in stasis, to avoid being arrested. The same story, the same descriptions, and recently some had in fact gone missing or not returned. Whether from being captured again or from simple failure was unknown.
After all the constant failures and reports, Glowstrike had become quite fed up with her underlings, deciding to see for herself what the problem was. She had left Saberhorn and Scorponok to watch over the reconstruction project and keep things in order while she was gone. She had also made it clear very few would be allowed off the island without her knowing that way she could keep proper track of her forces. They lost a few, but nothing that struck too hard of a blow to their numbers. She had more than enough to hold their own, a temporary outpost well hidden and well guarded.
At this very moment, Glowstrike was making her way from the island, no longer cloaked and hidden as she had been all this time. Instead, her signal would have been picked up surely, but she wasn't too concerned, focusing on getting across the massive lake towards the mainland. It took an hour or two but she finally found a suitable spot, one that granted her a fair view of the area as the buzzing of her fluttering wings could be heard echoing off the trees. But the sound faded once she landed in her insect mode, turning on the spot to take it all in, less than impressed by the flora. But now that city...it was impressive considering who it was built by, and it certainly gave her ideas of grandeur and wonder. It could be fitted to become a fortress, a good place for a new outpost...
Sadly, she shook these thoughts aside to focus on the present, finishing examining the area. "Hardly any signs of Autobots here," She muttered, giving a weary look to some cars crossing the bridge in the distance. As much as she would like to assume such a thing she knew better, especially when they tended to take vehicle forms. "Hmm, what to do about this little problem." She said to herself.
This was...certainly different from Delph as well as Cybertron. Although that was a good thing in one way. Perhaps the Red Rust virus wouldn't affect life here too badly? And then he learned of the humans. How dependent they were on their technology; although much more primitave than what Cybertron had. He had to wonder...would it affect the primitive tech? Maybe. Ambulon wasn't sure what to think, right now he was just trying to figure out what to do.
In truth, he was stuck here. Stuck on this planet just like everyone else. But he couldn't leave here even if he had the means too. This planet had life, life that could be compromised if Pharma truly did turn Decepticon with their Red Rust virus. In the Decepticon hands...Ambulon shuddered at the thought of it. The autobot didn't like the thought one bit. Pharma had to be reasoned with!! They were a smart bot, they were one who cared for their patients despite the horror they had brought to them. The old Pharma...had to be in there.
For a moment, his thoughts halted at a noise. It sounded much louder than to be one of the insect creatures of this planet. Crouching low, Ambulon moved forward and tried to keep himself hidden; very hard to do considering how large Cybertronians tended to be unless they were mini-cons. What he found, made his optics go wide. Decepticon symbol was on her, great. Looking to where she was currently glance at, the bridge and the city fell into his gaze. Autobots often did take vechile forms...oh no.
"I wouldn't risk revealing yourself to the natives of this planet by doing something foolish." Ambulon said as he came out of hiding. "I'm unarmed, I'm a medic."
Stupid idea...very stupid. But what else could he do?
It was ever so tempting to investigate this city up close and personal, to see for herself why her underlings had such problems with it. The fleshlings were smaller than they were and most of her forces could easily blend in just as any other Cybertronian. So, it left her with many questions of her own where these Autobots were. Were they in the city? Somewhere close to get to it if it were in danger? How many were truly on this planet? The answers were likely far out of her reach unless she found a suitable way to find them.
As if Primus himself heard her thoughts, someone spoke up behind the female Insecticon, making her whirl around to find herself face to face with another Cybertronian. But his Autobot symbol made her compound insectoid optics narrow before she transformed, "Not as foolish as someone revealing themselves to an enemy, one who..." Glowstrike paused, hands becoming raised as red energy began to concentrate towards dips in the palms but soon paused as well. "is armed." Glowstrike finished her sentence just as an idea formed in her mind. An Autobot was an Autobot, whether they were a soldier, ally, or just a simple medic such as the one who stood before her. Her answers were probably going to come sooner than she thought.
With a twisted smirk forming on her lips, Glowstrike once more concentrated energy towards her hands until the spheres were roughly half the size of a average Cybertronian's head, more than enough to do serious damage. "Seeming as you were so foolish as to reveal yourself medic, you'll be my little volunteer today for the answers I seek." Her voice was commanding, icy, and calm, her golden optics narrowed as she stepped towards Ambulon. "How about being a good little Autobot and telling me exactly what is going on as of late? You could say I'm a little out of the loop." Glowstrike's tone became colder, demanding even, never wavering in maintaining the red energy orbs in her palms.
"Just view these as incentive as well. I'm not above vaporizing something vital if you try my patience either." She added, gesturing with an incline of her head towards her hands, now awaiting an answer.
As was her normal mission, Filch was surveying from the air, her wings fanned out wide. Two. One shiny, one dull and flaky. She would then spiral down slightly and land, hopping like a two-ton magpie. Her wild eyes were watching Glowstrike and Ambulon, resisting the urge. She couldn't blurt it. She just couldn't blurt it.
But Glowstrike was just. So. SHINY!!!!
For a few moments she strained with the compulsion, before transforming. "Answer us and I won't pick at your paint, dullard." Her tone had a strangely distinct growl when she wasn't screeching about how something was shiny.
Or someone.
Her glance casted to Glowstrike and she gave her own throaty rumble. Her wings rustled slightly at her sides as arms; clearly her root mode wasn't her preferred form. This femme seemed to be stern, strong, the type that didn't suffer fools. Best to keep her away from Steeljaw, lest she muscle in on Filch's almost-assured position on Steeljaw's pack at this point.
It was a foolish action, Ambulon realized this. However, he felt at the time it was the only course of action to take. To keep this lower life forms safe to a degree and prevent needless destruction. He merely stared back at her, knowing fully well that she meant her threat with her little display of power.
"I've been out of the loop as well, I arrived the other night." Ambulon replied. "From what I understand, the DJD is about as well as Megatron."
The arrival of another decepticon was troublesome. Sure he wouldn't be running off with much chance of escaping due to his alt mode being the worst. The bird's threat didn't really unnerve him, he just raised a brow at em.
"Considering how botched my paint job is, you might just be making it better by picking the paint further." Ambulon commented toward the bird as he folded his arms.
The purple color appearing through the red and white paint was noticeable, there was no way to hide it. Though it no doubt raised some interest among others. Hopefully though, this would be the last mention of his paint job.
"You could always go find Megatron on his ship, or one of the DJD members. I'm sure they can debrief you." Ambulon said. "That one might know where some superiors are."
Least the medic wasn't a coward, something Glowstrike personally actually liked to see. She had crossed paths with a fair number of Autobot forces that squealed like sparklings the moment they realized they were outmatched and outgunned, especially by someone who they might have viewed as low on the Cybertronian food chain. To find someone who just stared her down as much as she stared back was a refreshing change. So, she was willing to hold back, to hear this Autobot out.
"Megatron himself is here? And his little disciplinarians too..." Glowstrike looked thoughtful for a moment, admittedly not expecting such news as this. Though, that would be something she would ask after she got a much different answer to her real concerns. "And what of your..." Someone else speaking caused Glowstrike to look back in irritation, expecting one of her subordinates to be the cause for the interference into her interrogation. Rather than one of her own subordinates, she was met with a bird Decepticon she was not familiar with other than this femme being a Corvicon.
"I hold little concern for someone's aesthetics bird," Glowstrike growled slightly, her irritation overshadowing her interest in where exactly Filch had come from. But she had to admit, Ambulon had a point that this other Decepticon, most likely a fellow prisoner if the area she had come from was anything to go by, had information as well she could use. "As I said, I was only made aware of any presence of superiors on this planet." She responded in kind, turning her glowing golden optics back towards the medic. "I am here to question how many of your Autobot comrades reside in this area. Though, seeming as you are new yourself, how many reside on this planet in general. I'm sure you have some knowledge to that." Glowstrike stated more than asked.
Why waste the energy trying to find a base she knew no knowledge of or throwing all her cards on the table in the hopes one little bird could provide all the answers she sought? Glowstrike was going to take advantage of opportunity in the moment than chance.
Such interesting information. Megatron's personal murder party was present and accounted for, as was quite a majority of his crew. She wrung her digits in frustration. The more that went on, the more she couldn't STAND it.
Oh, and that condescending TONE. Yeah, she definitely had to keep this one from meeting Steeljaw. She was going to be Steeljaw's second, damn it, and nothing was going to stop her, not even some BUG. She glowered at the medic more and seemed almost to hiss in seething rage.
"There are more of Megatron's crew on this pathetic dirtball. Including a large brute who I know he has command his footsoldiers." She murmured. "There are more out there." She murmured with a chilly smile. "I bet Spots the Wonder Medic here didn't know that."
